It is not easy to unseat Akuf-Addo after 4-years – Ex_pres J.J Rawlings.

As the opposition National Democratic Congress is preparing to recapture power from the ruling NPP government in the upcoming general election, former president John Dramani Mahama and his party leadership have been actively working to make sure they succeed in that exercise. John Dramani Mahama was the incumbent president of Ghana before his 9.5% defeat in 2016.

According to the founder of the NDC party former president Jerry John Rawlings, the return efforts of the NDC is a fruitless exercise. He said it’s not possible to unseat the ruling NPP government after just four years of governance.

“These people think they can unseat this man [Akufo-Addo] in 2020?” the former military ruler quizzed.

He was speaking in an interaction with the CEO of EIB Network, Bola Ray when they latter called on him to officially invite him to the launch of his biography.”

“You think it’s not possible?” Bola Ray asked.

“NPP? After only four years? No!” Ex- president replies

“You think they are going for eight years?” Bola Ray followed up to which Rawlings subtly replied in the affirmative.

“If they do well enough… And so far it doesn’t look too bad,” Rawlings observed.

Former president Jerry John Rawlings who is the founder of the National Democratic Congress currently seems to be having a cold relationship with the current NDC party and it’s leadership. Recently, on the 28th anniversary commemoration of the NDC, the founder Jerry John Rawlings did not show up at the event. His reason for not showing up is yet to be known.
