EWE-ANLO TRADITIONAL GOD’S PRAYER

EWE-ANLO TRADITIONAL GOD’S PRAYER
The Ewe people have a format of Praying according to their customs and Tradition that I’d love to share with you.
I don’t have copyrights to this video but then eager to share and teach fellow Ewe Youths how to pray to Mawuga (Great God) the Ewe way!!!

The Prayer may differ a little but then the format for the beginning is always as follows;
“MAWUGA SOGBOLISA, KITIKATA, AMESI WƆ DZIƑO KPLE ANYIGBA, AƉAŊTƆ BE YƐ WƆ ASI KPLE AFƆ”
The above Prayer line can be literally translated as follows;
“GREAT GOD, of both the Masculine and Feminine Energies, Creator or Mankind and the Universe, Creator of Heaven and Earth, Owner of all knowledge who said he made the hands and the feet”

MAWUGA means “Great God” with MAWU meaning “GOD” and “GA” meaning “BIG or GREAT”.

SOGBOLISA is the name of God that represents both the Masculine and Feminine energies. SOGBO is the Masculine energy or spirit of God and LISA is the feminine energy or spirit of God.

KITIKATA means that he is the God that created both the “BIG and the SMALL”. Meaning God is the creator of both the KITI (Microcosm or Mankind or Small part of something big) and KATA (Macrocosm or the Universe or something bigger).

Would further explain when I get to do my own video laaa. But then for now enjoy and learn from this video, Ewe Traditional Prayer by Torgbui ThoTho Sao!!!
