HOW TO TRAVEL TO KETA ALONE

HOW TO TRAVEL TO KETA ALONE

It is very easy to enter a car and come to Keta any day and leave the same day or sleep over and have enormous fun with little as 200cedis in your pocket.

#Keta is a 2 and a half hour journey from Accra if you don’t get stuck in the AccraMall traffic.
The fare by public transport (14 seater and more cars) is 35cedis from the transport station in Tudu. But you can get Private Car transports as well (4 in a car) at around 60cedis now.
The Cars usually do first stop over in Sogakope right after you cross the bridge for people to buy bread. Bread is a signature gift in Volta when coming from Accra.
The very last stop of the Car is in the Keta Township not far away from the Fort Prizentein.

If you get to Keta just go straight to the Fort Prinzenstein. There’s still a lot to see and hear. Ask of one Mr Akorli or Efo Bella aka Pozo to take you on a tour and tell you the story and you would still realize there’s a lot the Fort can still offer in terms of Tourism.

And after that you need to go take a walk at the Keta Emancipation Beach and you would love what they are doing to the place. Beautiful wooden structures and pergola and awesome African inspired decorations. Order something to drink and inhale the ocean breeze for a while.

Then you may be hungry so you’ve got to eat something before you continue the tour. Take a Taxi from Keta to Cocobay Beach Bar and Grill right behind the Aborigines BEACH Resort in Dzelukope-Keta and you would be glad you did. Their food is great and they would serve you with any kind of food you wish to order. You can even call and pre order before you start the journey.

You can take a trip to go do sightseeing at Meet Me There African Home Lodge in Dzita. Best place to spend the night if you want to do 2 days but you can go see around and nobody would fight you out. Just buy any drink and go sit under the shed they have that sits on top of a small lagoon created by underground Ocean water right in front of the Atlantic Ocean. The view is beautiful and the feeling is magical every time. But the magic happens at sunrise!!!
Commercial Taxi would take you 5 or 7cedis from Keta but you can charter for 20cedis or even less la.

Then you can take a Commercial Motorcycle or Taxi from Meet me there to do another sightseeing at The Chill River Resort in Tunu which is barely 10minutes on a bike from Dzita. The bike would take you 5cedis and The Chill River Resort has a standard 20cedis ticket for Visitors which you would take to the bar and buy something. This place is a must visit and you can get to ride a kayak or play on their mini gulf course if you looking to do some spending.
Remember to take the Motorriders number so you can call him to come pick you up again when you are done with the sightseeing.

Let the Bike or Taxi take you to Anyanui, Volta, Ghana which is about 5 minutes ride from the Chill River resort so you can see where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Volta River. This is a beautiful site to just go see.
If you looking to spend then you can rent a boat to take you to any of the Islands around or even Treasure Island and back. This area has a lot of Islands and all of them come to the Anyanui Market so boats visit the Island every day.

Take a Taxi at the Anyanui market where the boats are and back to Keta. There are a few stops like the Atorkor Slave Market in Atorkor, Volta, Ghana and the Cape St. Paul Lighthouse in Woe you can visit if you’ve got the time.

Looking out to see you in Keta. Very safe community to visit on your own.
