The Ewe is known to be one of the major ethnic groups in Ghana. In Ghana, they can be found mostly in the Volta region and are known to be mainly into fishing and farming and speak the Ewe language.

Mama Yakagbe was a woman warrior who fought alongside her male counterparts during "THE DATSUTA GBA WAR". She fought so gallantly that on her return, "a chief's stool valour was created for her. She was reputed to possess supernatural powers which she displayed on the battleground.

Today, her stool is at ATORKOR(Adela Ako Korpe) and is regarded as one of the powerful stools of Anlo. She ranked in valour to "Yaa Asantewaa of the Asante" and other African women of repute. Tsala, and his Twin brother Tsali(sons of Togbiga Detour Akplormada of Hogbe) and Mama Yakagbe remain three of the greatest legends of the Anlo-Ewes....(legendary warrior Difia of Anyako was one such Anlo leader).

Their names invoke great pride and inspiration "among the people who know of them" my addition(M.SAA).
