MAHAMA TO SHED CROCODILE TEARS AT NDC WEEKLY PRESS BRIEFING TO COURT PUBLIC SYMPATHY
A former Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has alleged that former president John Dramani Mahama intends to shed crocodile tears to win public sympathy prior to this year’s elections. He said per an intelligence picked up by the NPP in Ashanti Region, Mr John Dramani Mahama, leader and flagbearer of the NDC, intends to do this at one of his party’s weekly press briefing.
Speaking via phone on Accra-based Okay FM morning show programme hosted by Kwame Nkrumah Tikesie today, Mr Kokofu said, “an intel we have picked up in Kumasi is that one of the strategies the flagbearer of the NDC has decided to use, particular during the period of compilation of the new voters’ register, is that he’ll appear at one of their (NDCs) weekly press briefing to make an address on live tv and in the process cry uncontrollably”. The reason for this, according to Mr. Kokofu is that the NDC believe that Ghanaians voted for them during the 2012 election out of sympathy when Prof John Evans Atta Mills died. He said Mr Mahama has realized that the only way to win the sympathy of Ghanaians now to aid his presidential comeback ambition is to cry while addressing them.
Mr Kokofu was the MP for Bantama constituency from January 7, 2013 to January 6, 2017.
He is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development and also a member of the forestry commission governing board.
