Accra Technical University records Covid-19 case
The Accra Technical University (ATU) has recorded a case of Covid-19, the school authorities have said in a statement released Tuesday, June 23. |
The infected individual, a National Service person with the Academic Department of the university, is said to have reported ill at a health facility with symptoms of fever, headache and running nose and was subsequently tested for Covid-19, which came out positive on Sunday, June 21.
According to the university authorities, the infected person is currently in isolation at a health facility and is responding well to treatment, while six contacts have been traced and their samples taken. ‘
It has also indicated that the office in which the person worked and its surroundings will be fumigated while the contact tracing continues.
Meanwhile, the entire university community has been encouraged to remain calm while they abide by all the Covid-19 safety protocols.
